Description
Translator's notes:
I took a more poetic approach when I was translating this song because the song itself uses a lot of descriptions and poetic language. I also had to make the translations a bit long because the song references specific things that have names in Turkish. Two examples are "orman kuytusu" which means "an obscure, unknown and insignificant place in a forest" and "üzüm buğusu" which refers to the mist that forms on a grape due to humidity.
Also it seems I had made a mistake around 0:49, that should say "Some day, when you look back at life"
Cultural Context:
The lyrics for this song was written by Aysel Gürel, a popular songwriter. Her lyrics were used up to her death in 2008. She uses a lot of creative descriptions and her songs usually take on an assertive tone, as seen in this song as well.
"Firuze" is said to adress Gürel's daughter, Müjde Ar. Ar is an actor and Gürel presumably criticises her daughter, commenting on her "obsession" with beauty and how her years in the acting career will be transient since the industry is unforgiving when it comes to beauty. If you analyse the lyrics closely, you can see Gürel describing and critisizing the psychology of an actor that is almost delusional. The actor in question knows how the industry operates but is too obsessed with her ideals to actually acknowledge them. Well, at least that's my conjecture based upon the assumption that the song was written to adress Ar anyways.
